Ed helped to lead successful election campaigns for federal, statewide, and, local office, and has served in roles such as Civic Engagement Coordinator/RoxVote Director at Madison Park Development Corporation, Deputy Organizing Director at Mass Parent United (now National Parents Union), Commissioner for the City of Boston Board Of Elections (appointed by Marty Walsh in 2019).

A Boston native, Brian has amassed over a decade of experience in the political, government and non-profit sectors. Most recently, Brian served as Data and Information Systems Director for American Promise, a national cross-partisan organization with the goal of ending big money in politics. During this time, Brian also served as a grassroots lobbying and data consultant to the Novus Group, a government affairs firm in Boston, and senior strategist to the historic Rachael Rollins for District Attorney campaign and Julia Mejia for Boston City Council At-Large campaign.

Persis Yu is the SBPC’s deputy executive director and managing counsel. Persis is a nationally recognized expert on student loan law and has over a decade of hands-on experience representing student loan borrowers.

Persis was previously a staff attorney at the National Consumer Law Center and the director of its Student Loan Borrower Assistance Project, where she led a team of attorneys to advocate on behalf of low-income student loan borrowers. She co-authored NCLC’s legal treatise, Student Loan Law, and was a contributing author to the treatises Fair Credit Reporting, Consumer Credit Regulation, and Unfair and Deceptive Acts and Practices.
